ProTherapy

Pro Therapy employs the largest staff of Certified Hand Therapists north of Atlanta. A hand therapist is an occupational or physical therapist who, through advanced study, specializes in rehabilitating patients with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremity. The therapist's high degree of specialization requires continuing education and, often, advanced certification. This enables the hand therapist to work with patients to hasten their return to a productive lifestyle.

Pro Therapy's qualified hand therapist can evaluate and identify any problem relative to the upper extremities. Our hand therapists can effectively treat and rehabilitate the patient through postoperative rehabilitation, preventative, non-operative, or conservative treatment, or industry consultation. Pro Therapy specializes in this unique field. Our Certified Hand Therapists provide a comprehensive evaluation, including range of motion, strength, coordination skills, perpetual motor function, and sensation.

Rehab South

The Certified Hand Therapist designation indicates that an occupational or physical therapist has achieved the highest level of professional recognition in hand therapy. The certifications are awarded by the Hand Therapy Certification commission and recognized by the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT). This credentialing requires a therapist to have a minimum of 2,000 hours of direct practice experience in hand therapy, a minimum of 5 years total experience, and to successfully complete the Hand Therapy Certification Examination. Our Certified Hand Therapists are active members of the ASHT.

Following evaluation, patients undergo a treatment program designed to correct functional deficiencies and improve performance of daily living and work skills. The program may include whirlpool and ultrasound treatments, electrical stimulation, fluidotherapy, paraffin, therapeutic exercise, and the creation of customized hand splints.
